What are Higher and Degree Apprenticeships?
Higher and Degree Apprenticeships combine employment with higher education study. You gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for a particular occupation while working for an employer and working towards a higher-level qualification. At City College Norwich, apprentices can study towards Level 4, Level 5 or Level 6 qualifications depending on the apprenticeship.

How long do Higher and Degree Apprenticeships take?
The duration varies depending on the apprenticeship and qualification. Current City College Norwich programmes range from two years for some Level 4 Higher Apprenticeships to three years for a number of Level 4, Level 5 and Level 6 programmes.

Are apprenticeship course fees paid by the apprentice?
Apprentices do not normally pay the training and tuition costs themselves. Apprenticeship funding arrangements depend on factors including the employer and the apprenticeship, with employers responsible for meeting the relevant funding requirements. Applicants should check the current funding arrangements for their chosen apprenticeship.
