“After leaving school at 16, I made the decision to return to education over 30 years later, choosing CCN HE to study a foundation degree in Mental Health Practice. I feel proud of what I have achieved alongside working full time and raising a family, and I have achieved this with the support of my lecturers. The course has provided me with a step back into education as I now continue my learning journey.”
– Emma
“I would 100% recommend CCN HE. Being part of a small cohort was really good as you get more one-to-one time. The lecturing staff are very personable, the support is there if you want it, and you get lots of hands-on experience.”
– Adam
“As a single mum, choosing to go back into studying was a big decision for me and my family. CCN HE offered me the flexibility to pursue my degree while prioritising my role as a dedicated parent. The college has a friendly and supportive atmosphere, along with its openness to innovation, which makes it an ideal place for learning.”
– Katy-Rae
“I loved working with real life clients. I didn’t know how to use a camera when I joined the course, but then six months later I was nominated for three Royal Television Society awards, winning for Best Editing.”
– Jack
“During my A Levels, I spoke to my teachers and realised I would like to continue my studies at degree level. After attending a talk about university-level study with CCN HE, I realised the college and course seemed perfect for me - a smaller campus with no giant lecture halls, classmates I could get to know easily, and supportive tutors.”
– Elicia
“Over the past three years I’ve developed the knowledge, skills, and behaviours which have given me the confidence to lead on new projects applying best practice throughout. The breadth of modules provides an insight into a variety of business functions, meaning you come away with a more rounded view of business.”
– Ryan
“This course was a great alternative to traditional university, especially for those who wanted to work or volunteer alongside their studies. Being able to go up to the farm or the nature reserve to do practical sessions was such an asset. Volunteering alongside my studies definitely benefited me, as it allowed me to build practical skills and gave me the confidence to apply what I was learning in the classroom to my volunteering roles and vice versa.”
– Frances
“I really enjoy the course, I’m learning a lot from it. It’s good having the relationship with Hethersett police training centre, getting yourself around police officers and getting yourself in that mentality. I’m in the Special Constabulary as well, so I’m doing the degree alongside that, and it’s working really well.”
– Tom
“I feel like completing my degree showed me that I’m worth something, that I’m good at this and I know my stuff. It allowed me to acknowledge that an environment wasn’t right for me and prompted me to look elsewhere. I’ve had a wiggly career so far, but now I’ve landed here I know that this is what I was looking for.”
– Olivia
“I owe much of my success to my lecturers, for their teaching of the core theoretical concepts, their practical application, and invaluable support. I never imagined myself going to university; not only am I the first person in my family to attend university, but I am more encouraged than ever to develop my education further with a master’s degree.”
– Alex
“I loved all the lecturers, they were so supportive with everything. I recently emailed them to let them know I had a teaching job because I felt really proud of myself, and I wanted to let them know because they were such a big part of my journey.”
– Alicia
“The course has been great for expanding my understanding of the construction industry and opening potential future opportunities. The units and teachers are very up to date with construction standards and regulations. The course also covered future building methods, with trips to sites to see examples of them, which is vital for future proofing and reducing carbon to build a better future.”
– James
“The college support system gave me so much emotional support that I don’t think another university would have given me. I think I have my degree because of CCN HE. Since graduating, I was offered a role as a tutorial supervisor at City College Norwich on both our Health and Social Care and Childcare FE courses. I now want to give back what CCN HE gave me.”
– Emily
“My group was quite small, which was nice, we all helped each other. It’s nice to be a part of that. If we were stuck, we’d give each other ideas. The smaller, more personal aspect was better for me. We were adult learners and we were treated that way. The set timetable helped me particularly as I have children and I work, so this helped with childcare. ”
